Colorado to Visit Ohio State in 2011 – College Basketball
The Buffaloes of the University of Colorado will visit the Buckeyes of Ohio State on September 24th, 2011, for the first time in 25 years. Ohio State will offer the University of Colorado $1.4 million to visit Columbus, confirmed by athletic director Gene Smith.
To come and play Ohio State is anywhere from $400,000 to $750,000 with no intentions of visiting the opposing teams stadium, the usual price that Ohio State pays non-conference teams. Ohio State will have home games 3 out of the 4 weekends in September of 2011, being that the date for the two to meet is locked in. Against the Miami Hurricanes, will be their only road game.
Between the two schools, their match-up next year will be the 5th meeting. With 3 wins and only 1 loss, Ohio State leads the series. The cash that is being offered is also loved by Colorado. From the Big-12 conference to the Pac-10 conference next season, the school is looking to relocate.
The Buffaloes finished 3-9 with 2 of those wins being conference victories, last season. Since 2007, they haven’t been to a bowl game when they face Alabama in the Independence Bowl. for the Ohio State Buckeyes, it was a better season. They were the Big Ten and Rose Bowl Champions. With 1 loss coming from inside the conference, they finished 11-2, and they beat the University of Oregon in the Rose Bowl, 26-17.
