Michigan Wolverines host No. 11 Syracuse Orange
The Syracuse Orange will take on the Michigan Wolverines this weekend. This could be one of the best matchups of the weekend. Neither team has dropped a game to this point in the young season. The Orange are 4-0 and the Wolverines are 3-0 on the season.
The Orange are ranked at 10th in the nation despite their relatively shaky play. The Orange have really struggled to shoot the ball this season. They have shot just over 40 percent on the season as a team. This is really difficult to accept, as they are the 10th best team in the nation. It is especially difficult to accept seeing that they have not played a legitimate team on the season.
The Wolverines are not a high scoring team, but they have played excellent defense this season. They have not allowed more than 58 points in any game this season. They were particularly dominant in their season opener over SCUS. They allowed just 35 points in a 31 point victory.
The Wolverines have been solid on offense, shooting just under 49 percent on the season. They have also showed signs up putting more points up on the board. In their last game they managed to put up 80 points against WEBB.
This game will be important for both teams. If Michigan wins they will almost certainly find their way in to the top 25. If Syracuse wins they may have a shot at moving up the rankings. They’ll need to shoot better against the Wolverines if they hope to move up in rank.
