Temple Owls take on No. 8 Villanova Wildcats
The Temple Owls will square off against the Villanova Wildcats this Thursday.
These teams are both enjoying good seasons and their matchup should produce some good competition. The Owls have lost just 2 games on the season and have a record of 9-2 to this point. The Wildcats are currently 10-1 on the season and ranked 8th in the nation.
While the Temple Owls are not ranked, they have shown that they have the ability to beat some of the best teams in the nation. They have already played a few bigger named schools and came out on top against 10th ranked Georgetown.
While Villanova is ranked 8th in the nation, they have actually not had a victory over a ranked team this season. The only team that they have played to this point that is currently ranked is the Tennessee Volunteers. The Volunteers came out on top against Villanova.
The question in this game will be whether or not the Owls have enough offense to win this game. They are averaging just 68 points per game on the year. The good news for the Owls is that their offense has looked better as of late. They have scored over 76 points in each of their last 3 games.
The Wildcats will have the rebounding advantage between these two teams. If Temple does not find a way to grab their share of rebounds in this game they will have a hard time keeping up with this great team from Villanova.
