UConn Huskies, Pittsburgh Panthers meet on Big Monday

The No. 4 Connecticut Huskies will face off against the No. 6 Pittsburgh Panthers in the first Big Monday game featured on ESPN this year. The Huskies resume is much more impressive than the Pitt Panthers early in the season. UConn has beaten Michigan State when they were ranked No.2 in country and they also took down a No. 9 ranked Kentucky Wildcats team.

NCAAB Odds have not yet been posted.

The amazing aspect of the undefeated run by UConn is their abysmal shooting percentage from the field. They rank 130th in the country with a 44 percent shooting percentage from the field. UConn still manages to play a physical game on the boards, ranking fourth in the country in rebounds.

The Pittsburgh Panthers have one loss this season and the one loss came to the No.13 ranked Tennessee Volunteers. Pittsburgh resume is not as impressive as the Huskies. They have only beaten one ranked opponent this season and with the exception of a key win over Maryland their schedule has been loaded with easy opponents.

This game could be won on the boards. Pittsburgh ranks second in the country in rebounds and matches up well with the Huskies under the bucket. Pittsburgh’s specialty is their passing game and their unselfishness. They are a strong shooting team from the field and they rank 20th in the country in shooting percentage with a 49 percent shooting percentage.

This game could be the most exciting game on the college basketball schedule to start off the holiday week and it is well worth a two hour investment of time.
